Catrina Original

$1,500.00

In this painting, I’ve focused on the wholehearted Mexican belief that our earthly life is not all there is. We believe in life after death so who is better than the “Catrina” to help me say that life is a fragile, beautiful thing?

The colors, lines, and shapes I use seek to emulate the dance between life and death we experience every night when we go to sleep not knowing if we are going to wake up next morning. That’s why to me every new day is an opportunity to learn new things and revisit the childlike joy of being surprised.

Watercolor

13” × 11”
